Angelica Zavala Lopez│ Associate Biologist

Angelica Zavala Lopez graduated from UC Davis with a Bachelors Degree in Biological Science in 2006. While at UC Davis, she participated in several research projects studying fishes, birds, and intertidal snails at the main campus and at Bodega Marine Laboratory, Bodega Bay. Upon graduation, she worked at the California Department of Fish and Wildlife in Stockton, CA, conducting gut contents analyses on fishes found in the San Francisco Bay Delta. She then transferred to the Department of Fish and Wildlife in Monterey Bay, CA, where she helped conduct mark and recapture studies of groundfishes before enrolling in a Master’s degree program at California State University Northridge. Her Master’s research focused on the effects of temperature on the emergence and transmission of trematode parasites in southern California wetlands.  She has been working for MTS since her graduation in mid 2015, conducting field surveys, preparing reports and sorting invertebrate samples.
